Wagdy Ghoneim: Former Imam at Anaheim Mosque

Hat tip Teri and Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch

Wagdy Ghoneim was formerly the head imam at the Islamic Institute of Orange County in Anaheim until he was deported in January 2005. Subsequently, he took up residence in Qatar. Just recently, he has been asked to leave that country. According to the below report, he is currently in Istanbul.

I point all this out because I just visited the Anaheim mosque Sunday as part of Open Mosque Day where visitors were greeted with welcomes, refreshments, guided tours, and a presentation on Islam by the current imam, Mustafa Umar. Kinda hard to reconcile with Mr Ghoneim's resume, wouldn't you say?

So he's been deported. What do you want, to bring him back or something? Or do you want him in charge of the mosque again, rather than allow a reasonably sane man to take charge?
